Sabres suffer third straight loss to Blue Jackets

The Buffalo Sabres suffered their third straight loss on Sunday night as they fell, 7-3, to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

Sabres goaltender Craig Anderson stopped 32-of-38 shots. J-F Berube turned aside 33-of-36 shots to earn the win in his first NHL game since 2018.

Both teams were unable to convert on their power play opportunities as Buffalo went 0-for-1 and Columbus finished 0-for-2.


Mark Pysyk, Tage Thompson and Kyle Okposo scored for the Sabres.

Dean Kukan scored twice for the Blue Jackets and Zach Werenski, Boone Jenner, Brendan Gaunce, Justin Danforth and Gustav Nyquist also tallied.

The Sabres get a couple days off before they face the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
