On Saturday around 9 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a reported transformer explosion at a building on Route 14 in the town of Geneva.
When firefighters from North Side Fire Company arrived on-scene a second alarm was activated.
Heavy smoke was showing from the building, according to first responders.
The bitter cold and wind made battling the blaze even more challenging, according to first responders.
Route 14 was closed for a period of time in both directions as crews battled the flames.
Several departments from the area provided additional coverage, responded to the scene, or served as mutual aid to those who were at the fire.
