Representatives from Major League Baseball and the MLBPA met again Thursday with the players expected to submit a proposal. The bad news is the negotiating session lasted just 15 minutes, according to Ken Davidoff of the New York Post.
Jeff Passan of ESPN reported after the meeting was over that the league has set a deadline of February 28 to reach a deal in order to prevent regular season games from being lost.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said last week that players would need about four weeks of spring training to get ready for the regular season. So, there is still time to get a deal done for the season to start on time.
Opening Day is scheduled for March 31.
