In this episode, Yates County Administrator Nonie Flynn tells us sales and occupancy tax revenues well exceeded conservative estimates in 2021.
Some of the windfall will go into funds to help three capital projects, one to provide broadband to 700 underserved families in the county, another to improve the communications infrastructure for first responders and another to build a replacement for the Highway Department, which would also have space for the Health Department.
We got a COVID-19 update. The positive test percentage is declining. The County Legislature voted to end the mask mandate in county buildings. Vaccination clinics are now being held in the auditorium at the county office building.
Also, plans are underway for the Yates County bicentennial celebration in 2023.
