Almost $2 billion in wagers have been place in first month of legal mobile sports betting in New York, generating $70 million in tax revenue.
The Governor’s Office released the figures on Monday, February 14, according to News10 NBC.
Mobile sports betting was first legalized on January 8, 2022. Since then, $1.98 billion in wagers have been placed, including $600 million on football games.
The figures released by the state do not include bets place during Super Bowl weekend- those figures will be released here on Friday, February 18.
