The RIT men’s hockey team just couldn’t get anything going offensively as they fell, 1-0, to Mercyhurst on Friday night at Mercyhurst Ice Center.
The Tigers recorded 34 shots on goal, but failed to capitalize on their power play opportunities as they went 0-for-5 while the Lakers finished 1-for-4.
RIT goaltender Tommy Scarfone turned aside 26-of-27 shots. Kyle McClellan made 34 saves for Mercyhurst to earn the shutout.
Cade Townend scored the only goal of the game in the second period.
RIT hosts Mercyhurst on Saturday night as they look to get back in the win column. Face-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
