No injuries were reported, but a pole barn in Phelps was a total loss after an overnight blaze.
According to a news release, around 1 a.m. deputies responded to 1750 Irvin Road in Phelps for the reported structure fire.
Once on-scene, deputies determined the fire to be secluded to a pole barn approximately 100 feet from a the residence. The pole barn was a total loss.
Firefighters from Marbletown, Clifton Springs, Seneca Castle, Border City, Oaks Corners, Phelps, and Fairville responded. Phelps Ambulance also responded.
However, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Deputies say the homeowner believed the fire possibly originated from a heater, which was being used to warm oil for a tractor.
