The Cayuga County Health Department reported its lowest active COVID-19 case count since August 2021 on Wednesday, February 9.
The county reported 138 total active cases on Wednesday, slightly higher from Tuesday’s 129 cases, according to The Citizen.
Hospitalizations are also reportedly declining, with nine patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in the county. That’s the lowest number of hospitalizations in two months.
There were three reported deaths from COVID-19 in Cayuga County this week, all of which were men in their 60s. Since the onset of the pandemic, 131 Cayuga County residents in total have died from the virus.
