The New Orleans Saints are expected to hire former Syracuse and Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone for a key role on their offensive staff, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
It remains to be seen what his actual job title will be.
This will be Marrone’s second stint with the Saints as he served as their offensive coordinator and offensive line coach under Sean Payton from 2006-08.
Marrone went 25-25 over four seasons as the Syracuse head coach.
In two seasons as the Buffalo Bills head coach, he finished with a 15-17 record.
Marrone was in Syracuse last weekend and attended the men’s basketball game against Louisville.
