The New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) is getting a new leader as longtime President Jim Calvin prepares for retirement.
Kent Sopris will join the staff in mid-February as vice president and will take over as president when Calvin retires on July 1, 2022, according to Albany Times-Union. Sopris will be the association’s fourth president in their 35-year history.
NYACS is a not-for-profit trade association representing roughly 8,000 chain and independently-owned convenient stores throughout the state. Sopris’ most recent position was as director of the public transportation bureau of the state Department of Transportation.
