Alex Tuch scored in his return to Vegas, but it wasn’t enough as the Buffalo Sabres fell 5-2 to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.
The Golden Knights jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Tuch put the Sabres on the board.
John Hayden also scored for Buffalo midway through the third period.
Craig Anderson stopped 29-of-34 shots.
Reilly Smith, Brett Howden, Jonathan Marchessault, Keegan Kolesar and Mark Stone all scored for Vegas. Robin Lehner made 30 saves to defeat his former team.
Buffalo’s power play finished 0-for-2 while the penalty kill went 3-for-4.
The Sabres will be off until February 10 when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
