The Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse team received some tough news on Sunday.
According to a report from Inside Lacrosse, sophomore attack Owen Hiltz will miss significant time after suffering an upper-body injury in the Orange’s preseason scrimmage against Michigan on Saturday.
The injury reportedly resulted from a hit during the scrimmage.
Hiltz was the leading scorer for Syracuse last season. He scored 29 goals and finished with 48 points, which ranked second on the Orange.
Earlier this month Hiltz was voted an Inside Lacrosse honorable mention All-American.
Syracuse opens the regular season on February 12 against Holy Cross at the Carrier Dome.
