Americans throughout the country are still struggling financially through the pandemic, despite receiving three stimulus checks already.
Some people were entitled to stimulus checks but did see any at all for whatever reason.
While people call on Congress to send an additional payments, others are simply trying to get the ones they’re owed from 2021 in 2022.
Who will see a stimulus check in 2022?
The most common group that will see another stimulus check in 2022 are new parents, parents with new foster children, and parents who recently adopted a child in 2021.
This is because the dependent born in 2021 had not yet been reported to the IRS.
This comes under the American Rescue Act, which made it so qualifying Americans could get $1,400 for themselves and dependents they claim.
Recovery Rebate Credit
This year, Americans have the option to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax return. This is for the missed stimulus checks.
Million of Americans already received their payments, so they won’t need to claim it.
Some only received a partial payment for what they were actually entitled to. They could claim the remainder under the credit.
These payments will be disbursed with your tax refund.
