Craig Anderson’s first game back between the pipes in nearly three months couldn’t have gone much better. The 40-year-old goaltender stopped 27-of-28 shots to help the Buffalo Sabres open their three-game road trip with a 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
Peyton Krebs and Alex Tuch each recorded a goal and an assist, and Kyle Okposo also scored for Buffalo.
Shayne Gostisbehere scored for the Coyotes while rookie goaltender Karel Vejmelka made 32 saves.
Buffalo’s power play was 1-for-3. The penalty kill finished 1-for-2.
The Sabres continue their road trip on Sunday when they take on the Colorado Avalanche at 8 p.m.
