New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ office has issued a warning to PacGenomics, a COVID-19 testing lab, saying it promised test result turnaround times it couldn’t deliver on.
The Attorney General’s office says a number of consumers waited 10 days to receive their lab results despite being promised results withing 24 hours. Others received results labeled with the incorrect day of their test, according to the Albany Times-Union.
PacGenomics has been instructed to update their website to “accurately reflect how long individuals can expect to wait before receiving COVID-19 test results.” They’re also required to explain why consumers were receiving results labeled with inaccurate test dates.
