INSIDE THE FLX: Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason on opioid settlement money, Council request for EMS to be deemed ‘essential’ (podcast)

Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason says more money is coming for drug abuse treatment and prevention from an opioid lawsuit settlement.

The City Council passed a resolution calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to declare EMS personnel essential health care workers and to include money in the state budget for EMS services.

The Council also held a public hearing on this year’s Community Development Block Grant action plan, which will provide money for Community Development Support Services, housing, human service programs and neighborhood and park improvements. See details on the action plan below. The Council will vote on the plan at next week’s meeting.
