Omicron variant will probably reach it’s peak by February, according to Fauci. What does this mean for the course of the pandemic?
If Omicron does peak by February, it is a sign that we are “going in the right direction,” according to Dr. Fauci.
Could Omicron really end the pandemic like Dr. Fauci says?
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House medical adviser on the coronavirus seems hopeful. More information can be found here.
Although coronavirus has “surprised us in the past,” he predicts that the majority of states will hit their Omicron peak before the end of February.
“Things are looking good. We don’t want to get overconfident, but they look like they’re going in the right direction right now,” said Fauci.
There may still be struggles, particularly in areas of the country that remain unvaccinated. Hospitalizations may remain higher in those areas.
COVID-19 cases have been dropping nationally. This is the biggest clue that the Omicron wave may lead to some resolution.
