State police say a Painted Post man was charged with driving while intoxicated after first responders were called for a disabled vehicle on I-99 in Erwin.
According to a news release, on January 21, around 4:41 p.m. troopers say they were called to an area of I-99 for a disabled vehicle.
Upon arrival they found James Stewart, 52, of Painted Post, who verbally admitted to alcohol consumption. He submitted to field sobriety tests- and failed them.
Troopers took him into custody and a breath test was performed. Stewart was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.21% more than twice the legal limit.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued appearance tickets for local court.
