The RIT men’s hockey team were downed by the Niagara Purple Eagles, 5-3, on Friday night at the Gene Polisseni Center.
With the loss, RIT falls to 10-10-2.
Goaltender Tommy Scarfone turned aside 34-of-39 shots for the Tigers. Jake Sibell stopped 28-of-31 shots for Niagara.
Both teams were unable to convert on their power play opportunities as RIT went 0-for-2 and Niagara went 0-for-1.
Jake Joffe scored two of RIT’s three goals and Andrew Petrucci netted the other one.
Lars Rodne (2), Carter Randklev, Chris Harpur and Jordan Wishman were the goal scorers for Niagara.
RIT travels to Niagara Saturday for a rematch with the Purple Eagles. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m.
