Joe Schoen isn’t wasting any time with his coaching search.
Just hours after officially being named the new New York Giants general manager, Schoen officially requested permission to speak with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll about the head coaching job.
The interview took place Friday evening via Zoom with team president John Mara and chairman Steve Tisch.
Daboll, 46, is considered one of the heavy favorites to become the next Giants head coach.
Daboll joined the Bills in 2018 after helping lead Alabama to its 17th national championship in 2017. He was the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach that season.
Buffalo could be looking for a new offensive coordinator in a few weeks.
