Police in Ithaca are investigating a stabbing which happened on January 19 in the city.
According to a news release, officers were dispatched to the Fastrac on North Meadow Street for the reported stabbing around 4:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a male victim who had sustained a stab wound to his upper torso.
He was transported to a regional trauma center by Bangs Ambulance. According to the news release, the injury was believed to be non-life threatening.
Officers spoke with witnesses in the area who said the original incident occurred in the vicinity of West State STreet and Meadow Street.
The investigation remains active. It’s believed that the victim and suspect are known to each other.
At this point no one is in custody, according to police.
