Michigan State WR transfer CJ Hayes commits to Syracuse

Syracuse football has landed its fourth portal commitment as Michigan State wide receiver transfer CJ Hayes committed to Syracuse during an official visit on Thursday morning.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wideout spent the 2017 through 2021 seasons with the Spartans and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Hayes moved to safety last season and played a lot on special teams. However, he entered the transfer portal with the intent of moving back to wide receiver. In his Michigan State career, Hayes caught 14 passes for 154 yards.

Syracuse brings in Hayes as a much-needed addition to the Orange receiving corps. SU is still looking for a standout wide receiver after Taj Harris left the program in the middle of last season.
