Luckily, there’s a tool available to Americans that will make filing taxes faster and easier.

This is the IRS Free File Program, which is program aimed at helping Americans file their taxes for free.

The IRS teams up with tax preparation and software firms that give users access to their own filing products free of charge.

Who can use the IRS Free File Program?

The providers set their own rules and usually base them on age, state residency, and income.

Some will offer free state income tax prep.

If you make over $73,000 per year, you can still use the program.

Make sure you’re comfortable doing your own taxes if you choose this option.
