A universal basic income program will be implemented in Shreveport, Louisiana. This will give guaranteed monthly income to qualifying residents.
110 families will benefit from the program.
$660 will be given for 12 months.

Who can apply to the UBI program?
In order to qualify you need to be a single parent.
Your income must be 120% below the federal poverty line.
A single parent can be more than just a biological parent.
If applicable, it can be a mother, father, grandparent, step parent, or legal guardian with a child of school age.
Stimulus: Payments worth $5,000 available
The child has to be at least 3 years old and not over 20 as of Aug. 2021.
You cannot be living with your partner.

How will they choose the participants for the UBI program?
There will be two lotteries to choose who will qualify.
There is a treatment intervention group and a control group.
The intervention group will see the monthly payments, while the control group will have a chance to participate in future projects.
Three weeks after Monday, people will be notified of their status.
