The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department has received a grant from the same US Justice Department program as the Auburn Police Department to acquire body-worn cameras for Deputies.
Sheriff Brian Schenck is fully behind the program.
He says additional funding will be needed from the County Legislature. He says if all goes according to plan, Deputies could begin wearing body-worn cameras by later this year.
