Canandaigua Superintendent, administrators step in as cafeteria help with several staff out

For some Canandaigua school students recently, the person serving them lunch in the cafeteria was the Superintendent.

News 10 NBC reports some administrators have literally stepped up to the plate this week with a number of cafeteria staff out with COVID-19. Among them was Superintendent Jamie Farr, who said “The kitchen staff, they tell us what to do.” Today we were making hamburgers and putting out juice and milk and cheese trays. I’m trying to think what else we made… waffles and hashbrowns, and again put out the juice and milk and we made fruit cups.”

Farr says he’s seen other school district doing the same thing in order to keep schools open. He says a parent also volunteered to come in and help.
