The Steuben County Health Department will hold COVID-19 testing for people with symptoms at the Civil Defense Training Center on Route 54.
WETM-TV reports The facility will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8-1. You should wear a mask and bring your insurance card if you have one. If you have tested positive within the last 90 days, you’re asked not to go. Health officials say the testing site should not be used for required workplace testing, only for those with symptoms.
The tests will be a self-administered saliva swab, they ask testers to not brush their teeth or use mouthwash within one hour before the test.
They also ask individuals to not eat, smoke, chew gum or mints, vape, or use smokeless tobacco within 30 minutes before testing.
Walk-ins are accepted, but registration is preferred and can be found here.
