Seneca County Jail inmate accused of trying to contact protected party from jail

On January 6, 2022, the Seneca County Sheriff Office reports Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Steven Johnson, age 45, of Ovid NY for the charge of Criminal Contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.


It is alleged that Johnson was contacting a victim by electronic means from the Town of Ovid in violation of an order of protection issued by the Seneca County CAP court while confined as an inmate in the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Incidents occurred between November 26th of 2021 to December 10th 2021.

Johnson appeared before the CAP court of Seneca County on 01/06/2022 and will appear before the Town of Romulus Court at a later date.
