Canandaigua woman faces charges after allegedly passing fraudulent check at a bank

On January 11, 2022, at approximately 10:05 a.m., officers of the Canandaigua Police Department arrested 41-year-old Barbara J. Coon of Canandaigua, NY for one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

It is alleged that on June 22, 2021, Coon deposited a fraudulent check in the amount of $10520.00 at a bank in the City of Canandaigua. When the fraudulent check bounced, the bank attempted to recoup their funds but were unable to do so as Coon had spent a considerable amount. Attempts were made to allow Coon to repay the money but she refused to cooperate.

Coon was taken to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment at CAP Court.
