Police in Ithaca are investigating a series of forcible touching incidents and believe there could be more victims.

On January 5 around 4:30 p.m. police began receiving multiple reports of a man forcibly groping female victims in two downtown businesses in Ithaca.

The perpetrator was unknown to the victims.

Information provided by multiple witnesses assisted police in locating the perpetrator.

That person was identified as 34-year-old Abraham Phelan, who was taken into custody and charged with two counts of forcible touching.

He was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $4,000 cash bail. It’s believed that there are other victims and police ask anyone with information about the incidents to contact IPD.
