You can’t have a boat show without boats.
February’s scheduled Central NY Boat Show at the New York State Fairgrounds has been cancelled. Syracuse.com reports COVID-related supply chain issues have left a shortage of boats across the country. The fall 2021 show was cancelled for the same reason. The Boating Industries Association of Upstate New York hosts the twice annual shows.
“Ever since the pandemic set in, there’s been pretty good demand,” said Drew Wickham, boat show manager, “and it got crossways of the pandemic slowing down production. So between the two, it has created somewhat of a supply issue.” Wickham hopes there will be a show in 2023. In the meantime, he says if you’re in the market for a boat, you’d better hurry.
