A Seneca County man who killed a 40-year-old woman in 2020 will spend 20 years in prison.
John Gray, 38, was sentenced after pleading guilty to the murder of Ashia Chilson-Gray.
Family members of Chilson-Gray spoke at sentencing, talking about how Gray changed their lives permanently because of his actions.
“I’m grieving, I’m lost, I’m depressed, anxious and my heart is broken—And it’s all changed who I am—I used to be happy and so, so grateful,” Ashia’s mother, Kathryn White said in court.
Chilson-Gray was a middle school teacher in the Geneva school district.
