Finger Lakes Economic Development Center approves two major projects at the end of 2021

The Finger Lakes Economic Development Center approved two new projects at its final meetings of 2021.

The Chronicle-Express reports the center, which serves as the Yates County Industrial Development Agency, gave the go-ahead for Keuka Solar Village, a 125 unit housing development near the Penn Yan airport. Keuka Solar Village CEO Ryan Wallace told the town Planning Board over half the units will be reserved for people at or below 80% of the median local income. 49% will be rented at market rates. The units will be manufactured by Wallace’s new Solar Home Factory in the town of Geneva.

In November, the sale of the Top of the Lake Restaurant in Penn Yan was approved to Keuka Ventures, LLC. Plans call for major renovations, including the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system. There will also be a new bar and lounge on the lower level.

The project is anticipated to create 11 full-time equivalent positions in the first three years of operation.
