A man has been charged with burglary and criminal possession of a weapon following a break-in investigation in Elmira.
WENY-TV reports police were called Sunday to an address on Broadway in Elmira for a burglary taking place and a weapon being shown. Investigators say Cameron McPherson had a loaded .22 caliber handgun, but an occupant of the residence was able to restrain him and take the weapon away before police arrived. He was arrested without incident.
Police believe two or three other people may have been involved in the incident.
McPherson will be arraigned in Elmira City Court Monday.
