Police say a ghost gun was found during an attempted robbery investigation in the city of Auburn.
Around 2:30 p.m. on December 31 multiple police departments responded to a call about a person attempting to rob the Auburn Smoke Shop on Franklin Street.
The person allegedly had a semi-automatic ‘ghost’ gun.
After the attempted robbery police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Michael Ahmed Demarquis Clardy. Video surveillance and interviews with witnesses were used to identify Clardy’s location.
Officers found clothing matching the initial suspect description, and found the semi-automatic handgun used during the attempted robbery.
Police say the gun was a Glock replica ‘ghost’ gun. He was charged with first-degree attempted robbery, and two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
