$1,000 surprise stimulus payments going out this week, do you qualify?

Some Americans will receive a surprise stimulus check worth $1,000 this week if they take the steps needed to get it.

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont began the Back to Work program in May of this year.

The program gives qualifying residents returning to work $1,000 if they returned starting May 30, 2021.

Is there going to be a fourth $1,400 stimulus check in 2022 for seniors?


The program will run until Dec. 31, 2021.

Lamont explained that the program aims to help displaced workers who were out of the workforce for a long time get back on their feet upon returning.

How to get the $1000 Back to Work stimulus cash

The requirements to qualify are very specific compared to other states with back to work bonuses.

Basics include obtaining a job and completing an electronic application with the state of Connecticut.

Paper applications are not accepted.

Applicants may be contacted directly to verify they have been employed for 8 consecutive weeks in order to qualify.

In order to be eligible, there’s a list of requirements.

An unemployment weekly claim needs to have been filed for the week of May 23-29, 2021 with the state of Connecticut.

Weekly unemployment claims need to have been filed for another 11 weeks between Dec. 27, 2020 and May 22, 2021.

You need to have worked for 8 straight weeks with no gaps and you may not have collected any unemployment in that time period.
