Police have arrested an Elmira man after stealing more than $3,000 worth of products from a Lowes store in Sayre.
The thefts took place on three separate occasions, but police arrested William Swayze, 43, for the string of thefts. They took place over the course of a month, according to police.
Lowes’ Asset Protection has first noticed Swayze on October 7. He had over $1,100 worth of merchandise that was not paid for. Then on October 27, another incident where he took $877 worth of merchandise. Finally, on November 7 he entered and took upwards of $1,217 worth of merchandise.
He entered the store again at a later date but was apprehended when asset protection recognized him.
He was charged with two counts of retail theft and held on $50,000 bail because the crime took place across the state border.
