Rochester man charged with stealing items from town of Ontario garage, as well as nearby vehicles

A Rochester man is accused of breaking into a garage in the town of Ontario and stealing numerous items.

The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest of Daniel R. Steffen, age 29, of Rochester for Burglary in the 3^rd, Criminal Mischief in the 4^th Degree, 2 counts of Grand Larceny in the 4^th Degree, and Petit Larceny.

The arrest stems from an investigation that occurred in the Town of Ontario on October 26^th, 2020. It is alleged that Steffen broke into a garage and stole items from inside a vehicle as well as from others vehicles from within the area. Steffen was subsequently arrested and held in the Wayne County Jail while he awaits his arraignment at the Wayne County CAP court on December 23^rd, 2021 at 0700.
