At least two Rochester-area colleges will require negative COVID-19 tests from students before allowing them to return to campus following Christmas break.
WROC-TV reports St. John Fisher and SUNY Brockport will require return testing. RIT says it is “strongly encouraging” students to get tested before returning. Nazareth, where the vaccination rate among students is 90%, has not announced any testing requirement. The University of Rochester has a relatively high percentage of foreign students. It encouraged those students not to leave the US during break.
The spring semester begins in early January for most area colleges.
