New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a new incentive for people to get vaccinated against COVID.
A new booster shot program will mean anyone who gets an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by December 31 will receive $100.
“Boost your immune system and your bank account,” a large graphic read as Mayor de Blasio spoke about the incentive.
The move is the latest effort to improve booster rates as Omicron spreads rapidly across the U.S.
New York City has been among the hardest hit areas in the U.S. since the first Omicron case was discovered a few weeks ago.
