There’s another potential COVID-related supply chain shortage.
It’s at-home COVID test kits. A lot of people want to get tested before heading out for holiday visits. Kinney Drugs President John Marraffa says his stores have been able to keep the kits in stock so far, but he says a January 15th mandate that the tests’ cost be covered by all insurers could change that. He says people are turning from the PCR test, which gives results in a day or two, to the in-home test, with which results can be available in minutes.
If you can’t find an at-home test, several pharmacies and area health care providers offer drive-through testing.
