A Penn Yan man was taken into custody on felony charges after an incident in the village last month.
Daniel Newell, 42, was found to be in possession of a number of illegal metal knuckle knives and switchblades after being called to his home last month.
He is banned from owning any type of weapon due to past convictions.
Police say Newell was arrested on that day without incident, then charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a weapon following investigation.
The charge will be answered at a later date.
