An 11-year-old was airlifted from the scene of a serious crash in Ontario County on Thursday after being struck by an SUV around 2:45 p.m.
Deputies responded with the Canandaigua Ambulance and Cheshire Fire Department after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on State Route 21 in Canandaigua.
According to a news release, Vincent Marci, 54, of Canandaigua was traveling north on Route 21 when he struck an 11-year-old crossing the road.
The 11-year-old suffered serious injuries to the head and leg- and was airlifted by Mercy Flight.
Route 21 was closed for two hours as the investigation unfolded. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
