Police in Ithaca are investigating a shooting that happened Monday during the late-evening hours.
Around 9:30 p.m. officers responded to a reported shooting. Through investigation it was determined that the victim had been shot in the face at 222 Elmira Road.
Bangs EMS transported the victim to a regional trauma center where they were alert and conscious.
Police say the victim is expected to survive.
Several spent shell casings and a handgun were recovered at the scene.
