State police say they were called to an accidental shooting that happened in the town of Erin.
According to troopers, on Friday they were called to 324 Park Station Road in Erin for an accidental shooting at a residence.
Investigation revealed that a male resident had accidentally discharged a round from his lawfully possessed .44 caliber handgun which subsequently travelled through the ceiling striking a female resident who was upstairs.
The victim was transported to Robert Packard Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
