The State Police in Painted Post conducted a traffic stop on County Route 115 in the town of Lindley for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. During the investigation it was determined that the driver, Kerstyn M. Buck, had a valid Stay Away Order of Protection against the passenger Matthew S. Benish.
Benish was taken into custody and transported to SP Painted Post and was processed and transported to Steuben County Jail for Cap Arraignment for Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree.
Kerstyn was issued a seatbelt ticket and released at the scene.
