State police say the investigation into a fatal two vehicle crash that happened on State Route 46 in Verona remains active.
Preliminary investigation revealed that around 12:40 a.m. an SUV operated by Cory Delahunt, 36, of Rome was traveling north on Route 46 when he crossed into the southbound lane striking a sedan operated by Judith Webb, 79, of Rome head-on.
Webb was pronounced dead at the scene. A 74-year-old female passenger in the sedan was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate University Hospital. At this point she’s listed in stable condition, police said.
Delahunt was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
State police say they were assisted at the scene by a number of local agencies.
