The alleged operator of the ATV, Henry R. Drake, age 62 and brother to the deceased, received life-saving treatment from the investigator and deputies for lacerations to the head and leg and with the assistance of the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department, was rope-lifted from the scene and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center for treatment. The crash is still under investigation.
Sheriff Allard thanks the New York State Police and the Hammondsport and Pulteney Volunteer Fire Departments for their assistance in this incident.
