Firefighters battled a serious structure fire in Enfield during the overnight hours on Monday.
Around 5:30 p.m. the Tompkins County 911 Center received a report of a structure fire. Minutes after the initial alarm – a Enfield fire chief arrived on scene and confirmed a fully-involved commercial structure.
Trumansburg, Newfield, and Mecklenburg all responded to the scene too.
After many hours battling the blaze firefighters were able to extinguish it and secure the scene.
“Enfield Fire Company offers our sympathies to the family affected by this tragic & traumatic loss of assets,” the department said in a post on Facebook. “Enfield Fire Company would like to thank Tompkins Dispatch, Newfield Fire Company, Trumansbrug Fire Department, and Mecklenburg Fire Company as well as Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, and New York State Electric and Gas.”
