Shortly before midnight on Wednesday firefighters responded to a large structure fire on Snell Road in the town of Geneva.
A passerby called in the blaze with flames coming through the roof of the structure. Firefighters with the White Springs Fire Department said no one was home or injured, but the house suffered serious damage.
A second alarm was quickly activated, resulting in West Lake Road Fire, Geneva Fire, and rehab units from Oaks Corners.
Additional tankers were requested from North Side Fire, Border City, Benton, Stanley, Bellona, and Seneca Castle.
It was calculated that roughly 127,500 gallons of water were shuttled and used by the tanker task force deployed to control the fire.
New York State Police and Finger Lakes Ambulance also responded.
White Springs Fire Department was not back in service until 8:09 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.
